I’m not sure what to think of this. On 1 hand ya the US doesn’t need to be such a control freak. On the other … am I going to be getting orders from another country to take my site down?

I kinda like the American Right to say hey the government just isn’t being ran right. I remember reading an article not to long ago about how a person in China said they didn’t like something about their government on a web site, and boom they were arrested.<\/p>\n
What if the UN comes in and takes over the internet and you’re no longer allowed to say … _____ the UN they suck!<\/p>\n
In theory every country should have the right to run their portion of the internet the way they seem fit.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately I can get to Australia inside a 5 seconds on even a dial up. Do I have to obey Chinese law while visiting a site – unknown by me – inside their borders, and if I don’t will I risk being extradited for disobeying their laws??<\/p>\n

Now before you think I am realize that there are ‘laws’ out their due to the signing of treaties. So don’t take it lightly.<\/p>\n
I speak to a lot of people all over the world on IRC. As Americans we have the pompus attitude of “If it’s not happening here it’s not a big deal.” For the most part that seems to be true.<\/p>\n
However you can’t be mad at the US entirely, after all you don’t go to your neighbors grandmother’s funeral do you? Sure you’ll say I’m sorry she died, but it’s pretty rare you actually would go to your neighbors grandmother’s funeral, but if it were gang thugs that caused it … that’s a whole other story now isn’t it…<\/p>\n
