boycott-riaa.com – Article: What they REALLY fear – New Tech Levels Playing Field

Here’s an article on what I was talking about a couple days ago. Where artists are giving their music away for free, and the RIAA is loosing it’s power.

The RIAA may be winning in court, but on the internet the Indie Artist is gaining power.

One day an artist will no longer strive to ‘get signed.’ The first and foremost goal will be to get a web page. Get some mp3s up. Hopefully in the future bands won’t even think about ‘getting signed.’

Personally being a geek, I think a web page is just as important as an album. Perhaps more. Even if your music isn’t discovered now, it might be in 10, 20, 30, 100 years into the future – if the world lasts that long. – Of course you would need to let the Internet archive permission to spider your site.
