The ilo DVDR05 MU is an utter piece of crap.
You could burn your $100 in an ash try and get better use out of it that to buy this thing.
Maybe just maybe I got the 1 out of 100/1000/10000 units that come off the line bad.
The guys over there at afterdawn.com have posted a review as well.
I’m guessing that I’m not alone.
The thing is a dvd+rw should:
- Record at room temprature.
- Play a Commercial DVD
- Not void your warranty if you install official firmware
- Be smart enough to start the next show if it’s finalization of the previous show took a little long.
These are all problems I’ve had with the ilo dvdr05 MU.
I’m getting rid of this thing.
We as a society are so used to dealing with M$ crashware that new technology is expected to crash. I have a FREE os on all my computers. It can stay up longer than any M$ os I’ve ever ran with fewer problems. It’s gone days even months without a reboot. If it didn’t work it was because the hardware – motherboard – in one case was bad. Not a big deal because it was a backup computer. When I install a new driver, I don’t have to reboot. Whenever I install a new driver in a M$ crapos I have to reboot at the minimum of 2 times. So I’m not one of these people who believes price = quality.
However in the area of the ilo DVDR05 MU you would be ahead right now burning your money. Maybe doing the equivalent and buying some fireworks. At least you’ll get a nice show.
