RIAA and MPAA call a halt on digital progress
This kind of stuff just makes me mad, and the sad thing is I can see it happening.
The RIAA, an MPAA are not government organizations. We never had to worry about this kind of crap with cassette tapes, or VHS. It was simple, you recorded, and it didn’t matter. ‘Dual Cassette Recorders’ existed, and you were allowed to record all you wanted. Granted it was probably against the law, but you never had to worry about the RIAA, or MPAA coming along and saying … hey you can’t do that.
You could record off the radio, or TV, come back a year later, and not worry about the content being erased.
If this happens … well sadly to say America will no longer be a super power in the world. We might as well just cut down our power lines, and go back to being a third world country if this happens.
Why? Well … #1 the RIAA and MPAA are private organizations that have no right to ok, or not ok laws. Keep becoming the enemy of the people.
The sad thing is where else are we going to go for entertainment?
TV, music, and movies. That’s pretty much all there is for something fun to watch.
Oh well I guess I should write my congress man, and then get ready for the next ride of disappointing legislation where the victor is a big multi-billion dollar corperation.
I’m not against the RIAA/MPAA making a profit, but I am against them sticking their nose so far into consumer electronics that you and I don’t have the ability to press record for perfectly legal time shifting of our favorite tv show.
The funny thing about greed is it seems like you always want a little bit more.
