Everyone knows that it’s not the listener that gets a song played anymore. I can’t remember the last time I heard of someone calling a radio station to request a song.
In fact I have a little more in site into this than the average person.
I used to be a radio dj.
At 1 point in time I heard a news blurb about 2 people who claimed to work for a company that called up radio stations and requested songs, one of the bands the blurb mentioned was for Salt-N-Peppa.
Then I recalled a time when it was late, and someone requested to hear a song by Salt and Peppa. This happened twice.
After a couple of weeks it came to me, that company must have been calling me to request that song.
