Postage is due for companies sending e-mail | CNET News.com
This article is expired at cnet …

Who owns aol? Who owns the new york times?

It’s kinda odd that zeropaid has a little of the article, then you go to news.com, and are greeted with a message along the lines of it being expired.

So I did a search email aol on the new york times site, and nothing.

I’m guessing that Time Warner owns some of the new your times. – No research right now it’s just a guess –

The parent company said hey we want this thing to go through. We want people to be forced to pay postage.

THAT IS A BUNCH OF BS.

Email should be free. #1. It’s less than a penny to transfer the data. Seriously you typing in the message to an im is free, so sending email should be free as well. #2. This will push the ‘little guy’ out of the picture. No longer will anyone be able to set up an email server. It’s bunch of crap that this would even be though of.

The spam problem exists in part because of aol.com, and asking them to fix it is absurd. It will allow them to scan/read your email they have no right reading. It’s really about control.

I want to be able to control my email server, and you should want to control your email server as well, not give big companies the right to charge you for something that currently is as simple as 2 computers passing a note to each other.

Erm
